GAS LINE STRUCK

A medium pressure gas line was drilled into by mistake in front of Lower Merion High School today. PECO had to dig and reroute the gas line. We stood by while PECO handled the situation for 4 hours. Command was established, full company from Ardmore, one engine from Narberth for man power, LMFD Office, LM Police & Narberth Ambulance assisted.

117th ANNUAL BANQUET

Recently, MFC held its 117th Annual Banquet at The Merion Cricket Club. The following awards were handed out to our Brigade Members.

Five Year Service Award: J.P. Kelly, Steve Rodgers, Dan Rodgers
Fifteen Year Service Award: Judy Flanagan
Forty Five Year Service Award: Tom Keyser
Firefighter of the Year Award: Michael O'Sullivan
Edward F. Powers Memorial Award: Steve Hand
Chiefs Award: Steve Hand, for his eight years of service as Deputy Chief
Memorial Plaque: Mr. & Mrs. Hays
Life Time Members (25 years of service): H. Brooke McMullin and Jim McCoy

ENGINE 25 ASSISTS IN ROSEMONT

Early Tuesday morning Merion Fire Company was dispatched to 358 Thornbrook Road in Rosemont to assist with a working house fire. The fire was quickly knocked down by members of Bryn Mawr Fire Company. Upon arrival Engine 25 assisted in extending an 1 3/4 " line to the second floor as well as overhaul. Companies responding were Bryn Mawr (Station 23), Gladwyne (Station 24), Merion Fire Company - Engine 25 (Station 25), Penn Wynne - FAST TEAM (Station 21) and Narberth Ambulance (313).
