Fire prevention class
On Monday evening 11-15-10 a fire prevention class was given to Penn Valley Pack 247 Cub Scouts at our station.
The program was well received by the cubs and and it was a pleasure to host this educational evening.

Oreck Electric Fire
The Merion Fire Company along with the Bryn Mawr Fire Company were dispatched to 16 Greenfield Ave on November 14th for an electrical fire in the showroom of the Oreck Store. Firefighters handled the problem quickly.

Staples assist
The Merion Fire Company assisted Bryn Mawr Fire company at the Staples store located at 755 West Lancaster Ave.
Companies were in service for about 15 minutes.

Toy store gas leak
The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore was dispatched to a gas leak in the Mapes Toy store at 210 West Lancaster Ave this morning.
The gas was shut off and the commercial building was ventilated. PECO arrived to handle the problem.

New baby for MFCA Member
On Monday November 8th, the Merion Fire Company welcomed our newest member to our firehouse family. Benjamin Gerald Van Winkle was born at Lankanau Medical Center at 7:20 p.m. The little bundle of joy weighed in at 7 lbs, 3 oz.

The Company is glad to report that Erin and Ben (oh, and Tim too) are doing fine and will be home in a few days.

Activated Sprinkler Alarm
The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore responded to an activated sprinkler alarm at the Wynnewood Shopping Center today. As firefighters arrived they were directed to the rear of the building to assist a construction worker who fell off of scaffolding inside the building and snapped the sprinkler pipe on the way down. The scene was made safe and the worker was airlifted to a trauma center.
