Malfunctioning Heater

The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore responded to a malfunctioning heater in a commercial building at 19 East Spring Ave at 4:45 PM. Firefighters shut the system down and ventilated the building with multiple fans. Firefighters were back in service in 20 minutes.

Report of Fumes

Ardmore firefighters handled a report of fumes in the apartment building at 81 Rittenhouse Place at 4:45PM on Monday afternoon.

Trapped Occupant Rescue

The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore along with Rescue Companies from Penn Wynne and Belmont Hills responded to East Montogmery Ave and Owen Road shortly before noon today to free a trapped occupant from an automobile. The male subject was quickly extricated by firefighters.

Oven Fire

The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore responded to an oven fire with extension at 207 Roberts Road in Ardmore early Friday evening. Firefighters pulled a line, removed the oven, checked for extension, and ventilated the house. The company was in service for 45 minutes.

Leaking Oil Tank

At 3:15 AM the Merion Fire Company along with Narberth Ambulance was called to 57 Rittenhouse Place in Ardmore for a report of fumes in the building. Firefighters found a leaking oil tank in the basement of the 3 story apartment building. Companies were back in service in 45 minutes.

Oil Burner Fire

Thanksgiving morning the Merion Fire Company assisted by the Bryn Mawr Fire Company responded to a report of a house fire in the area of Simpson & Drexel Roads in Ardmore. First to arrive fire officers found an oil burner fire at a house on Simpson and quickly handled it.

Gas Odor response

Thanksgiving evening at 10:30PM firefighters from the Merion Fire Company responded to the 119 Mill Creek Apartments for an outside gas odor.

Boiler Heater Fire

The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore along with the Narberth Fire Company responded to the Oakwyne House Apartments on Saturday afternoon shortly before 2:00PM for smoke coming from the building in the rear. A boiler heater fire in the basement was quickly controlled. Additional units from Union Fire Association, Gladwyne Fire Company, Penn Wynne Fire Company, & Narberth Ambulance were called to the scene. Companies were in service for about an hour.

In Memory of Bob Neely

On Friday November 11th, The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore assisted the Penn Wynne-Overbrook Hills Fire Company with Engine 25-1 for the funeral of Past Assistant Chief and long time member Bob Neely, Uncle of MFCA Firefighter Will Neely. Engine 25-1 served as the hearse from the funeral home to West Laurel Hill Cemetery. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bob's Family and to the PWFC.

Assist with Multiple Alarms

The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore assisted by the Narberth Fire Company responded to a reported building fire at 119 Mill Creek Road in Ardmore. The first arriving Fire Marshal reported an odor of electrical on multiple floors. Command was set up and firefighters investigated for 90 minutes. There also was a 2nd call for a C/O alarm on St Paul's Road during this event that was handled by the Bryn Mawr Fire Company.

Rittenhouse Place Accident

The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore was dispatched to 49 Rittenhouse Place to assist with an automobile accident vs building. Firefighters checked for injuries, accessed the utilities and handled fluid control. The company was back in service in 20 minutes. There were no injuries.

Station Road accident

Ardmore Firefighters were dispatched to assist with a vehicle accident at Station Road and Anderson Aves.
Firefighters spread oil dry and assisted with clean up.

Smoking Light Ballast

The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore assisted Bryn Mawr with a report of an odor of smoke in the Vitamin shop located in the 700 Block of West Lancaster Ave. Companies found a smoking light ballast and were able to go back into service quickly.
