Rotary Club Support

The Rotary Club of Ardmore presented a check to the Merion Fire Company for $10,000.00 from proceeds of the 2012 Pancake Day.
The Merion Fire Company thanks all the Rotary members and the public for their support!
The support of the Rotary Club has raised more then $100,000.00 over the past 25 years.

Lower Merion High School alarm

900 Montgomery Ave.

Ardmore firefighters assisted the Bryn Mawr Fire Company with a report of smoke in the building at the Mermont Apartments at 900 Montgomery Ave in Bryn Mawr. A trash fire in the basement was quickly put out. Firefighters removed people from the building and vented the smoke on the upper floors.

The upgraded building response was also dispatched.
Companies were back in service in 45 minutes.

Chipotle Restaurant Gas Leak

A gas leak was quickly handled by Ardmore Firefighters at the Chipotle Restaurant in the Ardmore West Shopping Center at 11:00PM.
Firefighters stopped the active leak before the arrival of PECO.

630 Greythorne Road

The Merion Fire Company (25) assisted Penn Wynne Fire Company (21) at 630 Greythorne Road in Wynnewood shortly after 4 PM with a fire in a second floor closet. Quick work by firefighters stopped the fire before it got into the attic. Companies were in service for 40 minutes.

Santa's Here! Santa's Here!

These words were voiced by all the children of the of the firefighters of the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore. Santa, once again, made a break from his very busy schedule and stopped by the firehouse for the Kid's Christmas Party. A great time was had by all and appreciated by everyone.

Underground explosions / smoke from manholes

Ardmore firefighters were called to Cricket Ave and East Athens Ave this morning at 9:30 AM for a report of smoke coming from manholes.
At 9:40 a series of violent underground explosions occurred. Firefighters evacuated 4 apartment building and several stores.
There was an extended loss of power in the area. The streets will be shut down for an extended period of time while PECO works on the problem.

2012 Santa Brigade toy-raiser

Ardmore Firefighters participated in the 2012 Santa Brigade toy-raiser.
We were able to purchase and wrap 10 gifts for area children in need. The ages of the kids sponsored this year ranged from 1 to 11 years old.
In addition to a toy, each child received a winter hat and a pair of gloves. This was the fifth year our Active Members participated in the great event.
