Merion Fire Company responded to an odor in an apartment on Cricket Ave. The company completed the investigation in 15 minutes.

WYNNEWOOD GAS LEAKS

The Merion Fire Company was called to two gas leaks in the Wynnewood section. A gas main was stuck by contractors on Loves Lane and a house service was severed on Arthur's Round Table. PECO responded quickly and capped the leaks.

WYOMING AVE

On Monday morning Merion Firefighters were called to handle fumes in the building on Wyoming Ave in Ardmore. The company was in service for about 40 minutes ventilating.

CAR HITS CAR WASH

The Merion Fire Company was dispatched to the car wash in the 100 block of West Lancaster Ave for a report of a car that hit the Car Wash building. The building and electric had to be shut down until a complete engineering study is done. Firefighters were on location for 20 minutes.

ARDMORE PLAZA GAS LEAK

The Merion Fire Company responded to the Ardmore Plaza Shopping Center shortly after 9:00AM. for a report of a smell of gas. First arriving firefighters had a complaint in numerous stores of an odor. Command was established and the building was evacuated. PECO arrived quickly and assisted in the search for the source. Forcible entry was made to a restaurant were a leaking gas line was discovered. The buildings were mechanically ventilated for 45 minutes. Engine 23 was called to the scene to assist.

Firefighters were called to assist EMS at 1219 West Wynnewood Road with a possible medical emergency behind a locked door on the 3rd floor.

STOVE FIRE

Ardmore and Bryn Mawr Fire Companies were dispatched to a report of a stove fire in an apartment in the 100 block of Walnut Ave in Ardmore. Police arrived with fire out of the stove in the kitchen. Engine 25 arrived pulled an 1 3/4" and quickly controlled the fire. The fire upgrade was requested. All companies were back in service in 45 minutes.

UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL EXPLOSION

At 9:00AM on Monday Ardmore Firefighters responded to an underground electrical explosion and fire at Montgomery Ave & Anderson Ave. This fire caused a widespread power outage and the closure of Montgomery Ave. PECO responded and restored power.

4th PARADE & ALARM

Merion firefighters attended parades in South Ardmore as well as Garrett Hill to celebrate the 4th of July. Members were called to handle a fire alarm during the parade. Later that night firefighters attend the fireworks in Narberth.
