The Merion Fire Company assisted by the Bryn Mawr Fire Company responded to a fire in the basement at 226 Chestnut Ave in Ardmore at 12:54 PM. Firefighters quickly advanced a hose line and knocked the fire down. Companies remained on location for an hour.
There were no injuries.

Acme Electrical Fire

At 09:12 The Gladwyne and Ardmore fire Companies responded to an electrical fire at the Acme on Youngsford Road in Gladwyne.
The fire was quickly controlled and the building ventilated.
On person was transported to the hospital.

MFCA Saves House from Flooding

Merion firefighters got the water shut off at a sprinkler pump house on Cherry Lane. A home down stream from the flowing water was in imitate danger of flooding.

Due to the firefighters actions the house only had minor damage.

Township Building Gas Pipe

Ardmore firefighters responded to the Lower Merion Township building at 11:50 AM after a contractor struck a natural gas pipe while making repairs.
The situation was monitored and stabilized be PECO within the hour.

The Merion Fire Company assisted with smoke in the building at the For Eyes store at 1211 West Lancaster Ave.
An electrical problem was found and the building was ventilated.
