At 5:50 PM Engine and Ladder 25 responded to the 100 block of Grandview Road for a fire alarm in the area.
Firefighters found unintended cooking in an apartment.

Fast Team Dispatch

Ladder 25 responded as the FAST team to a Lower Merion working fire dispatch at 35 Old Lancaster Road in Bala Cynwyd.
The call was an appliance on the 3rd floor and we were quickly back into service.

Ardmore assisted by Engine 23 handled an oven fire on Sheldon Lane in Ardmore at 10:30AM.

Barrie Road Electrical Fire

Station 25 responded to assist PECO with an electrical fire on Barrie Road in the Ardmore section at 10:13 PM. 
Dry chemical was deployed and quickly extinguished the fire.

Walnut and Spring

Ardmore firefighters investigated an odor of gas in the area of Walnut and Spring in the Ardmore Section shortly after 2PM.

Whole Foods

Sta. 25 was dispatched for a fire alarm at the Wynnewood Whole Foods at 11:13 hours. Additional information advised that a truck had struck the building. First arriving crews found a small box truck had wedged itself inside the underground parking garage after striking a portion of the sprinkler system and an overhead gas line.

Sta. 26 was requested to assist due to the size and occupancy of the building. Crews secured the gas service to the facility and the sprinkler system in the garage area, as well as performed air monitoring throughout the building. The scene was turned over to FM-34-1 and PECO.

At 5:10 PM Ardmore Firefighters investigated multiple complaints of an odor in the rear parking lot in the unit block of West Lancaster Ave.

Full Rescue Assignment

At 4:27 PM, the full rescue assignment was transmitted to respond to New Gulph and Montgomery in Haverford for a truck that took down power lines with occupants still in it. The occupants were removed.

Haverford College

At 6:55 AM this morning the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore responded to a truck fire on the Haverford College Campus. Firefighters from Ardmore quickly knocked down the fire. There were no injuries.  Firefighters were on scene for on hour.

300 East Lancaster

Station 25 responded to 300 East Lancaster Ave in Wynnewood and handled an odor that was reported on the 7th and 8th floor.

Trash Fire

Engine 25 handed a trash fire at East Spring Ave and Chestnut Ave shortly after 5PM.

Busy Friday

Ardmore members had a busy Friday night.

The first call was a gas odor on the 300 block of West Spring Avenue at 20:01 hours.
As the investigation was wrapping up we were alerted to assist Sta.21 on a working fire.
Engine 25 responded and was recalled while enroute.

At 22:59 hours the company handled a fire alarm at Not Your Average Joes in Suburban Square.

Shortly after we assisted Sta.23 on a dwelling fire response at 23:35 hours in the 1700 block of Montgomery Avenue.

At 03:18 hours we responded to the 100 block of Millcreek Road for a report of a large tree that fell into an apartment building.
There was damage to multiple units on all three floors. Engine 21 and FM34-3 assisted with the investigation.

National Night Out

National Night Out

The  Annual National Night Out" (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), 

This year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 37 million people participated in National Night Out 2009.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
• Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
