LADDER 25 ENTANGLED

Last night while driving to the training grounds for drill, Ladder 25 ran into low hanging wires which brought down electrical wires, Verizon wires, cable wires and a light pole.

The Ladder truck was entangled in these wires with 4 firefighters aboard for 30 minutes.  PECO responded quickly to secure the scene, cut the electric from the transformer down the street and then removed all the wires from the apparatus freeing the truck and our firefighters.

Our firefighters were not injured.  I would like to thank the Narberth Fire Company, Chief Fran Dixion, PECO, Narberth Ambulance, Fire Marshal McCoy, Lower Merion Police and all the members of the Merion Fire Company who responded, secured and worked the scene before PECO's arrival and contributed to the positive outcome.

Please be safe always. I thank all members for their commitment to the fire service.

Tom Hayden / Chief
