2/18/2025 0637—Station 25 responded as mutual aid to Abington Township to assist with the SPS Technologies fire that broke out on the evening of 2/17/25. The initial response of Ladder 25 and crew came at 0637. The ladder pipe was put into service throughout the day, and the crew assisted with various tasks, including making an interior attack on the fire. At 1209 the Company added Engine 25 and Engine 25-1, Utility 25 for manpower, and Command 25 to the incident. The additional 16 firefighters supplemented the Ladder crew that had been on-scene since early morning. Crews remained on-scene until after 1630 pumping water and meaning the ladder pipe. Additionally, at 2222 on 2/17/25 Ardmore sent Engine 25-1 and crew to cover Station 300 until the early morning of 2/18/25. The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore is proud to help our fellow fire companies near and far in their times of need and appreciates the tremendous efforts of all the fire companies that responded to this fire.
