1/15/2022 17:49 Building Fire

01.19.2022 by Graham Fuller //

1/15/2022 Building Fire – During the dinner hour, our firefighters and an engine from Narberth were alerted to a trash fire at Lankenau Medical Center. As soon as tones finished dropping, the assignment was upgraded to a building as the fire was located inside the Heart Pavillion. Early reports were of a fire in a patient room with sprinkler activation. Chief 21 arrived to an alarm sounding and a report of the fire out, a smoke condition inside, and the sprinkler flowing. The first in crew from Ladder 21 confirmed this report. Additional units responding in stood by and resources were deployed as needed. Crews worked to shut down the sprinkler system, vent the area of smoke, and assist with standing water and water damage on the floors underneath the incident. Kudos to the quick response of the Lankenau Medical Center clinicians
