3/31/2025 1137 – The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore responded to the alley on the north side of the Ardmore Train Station that is under construction when a piece of heavy construction equipment severed an underground natural gas line. Firefighters shut down the roads, removed the construction workers, and evacuated a 3-story office building. PECO responded quickly and was able to cap the leak. Air monitoring was done by firefighters in several buildings. There were no injuries, but Anderson Ave was shut down for a few hours.
