8/12/26 0926 Odor of Gas

8/12/2026 | 0926 Hours – Ardmore firefighters responded to several businesses on Greenfield Avenue, directly across from the fire station, for a reported gas odor and possible leak.

Crews investigated the affected stores, secured the area, and requested PECO to the scene. PECO located and addressed the gas leak while Station 25 personnel remained on location to ventilate the building and help ensure the affected spaces were safe.

Gas odors should always be taken seriously. If you smell natural gas, leave the area, avoid using electrical switches or anything that could create a spark, and call 911 from a safe location.

8/11/26 1740 Brush Fire

8/11/2026 | 1740 Hours – The crew from Engine 25 responded to the 300 block of Montgomery Avenue in Wynnewood for a reported brush fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters located a small brush fire and quickly extinguished it before it could spread to the surrounding area.

8/6/26 1107 Building Fire

8/6/2026 | 1107 Hours – Station 25 responded with Stations 23, 24, 26, and 21 to 8 Booth Lane for a reported house fire.

First-arriving crews encountered heavy smoke showing from the front entrance of the residence and immediately went to work. Ardmore firefighters assisted by conducting primary searches of the home, positioning Ladder 25 for operations, and laying a supply line to ensure a reliable water source for the firefighting effort.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all responding companies, the incident was brought under control, and the homeowners were not injured.

Incidents like this demonstrate the importance of teamwork, training, and a rapid mutual aid response to protect lives and property.
