8/7/26 1434 Building Fire

08.07.2026 by Graham Fuller //

8/7/2026 | 1434 Hours – Station 25 responded with Stations 21, 23, 26, and 28 to the 100 block of Grandview Road for a reported house fire.

Chief 25 arrived to find smoke showing from the rear of the residence and heard calls for help coming from inside the first floor. Chief 25 and Fire Marshal Gulliver immediately entered the home and safely evacuated two elderly women through the front of the structure.

Ladder 25 arrived shortly behind Engine 25, and its crew began a search of the second floor. Firefighters located a male occupant who was unaware that the house was on fire and safely evacuated him from the residence.

Crews quickly located and knocked down the fire before beginning ventilation and overhaul operations.

Great work by all companies involved in bringing this incident under control and safely removing all occupants from the home.

03.02.2020 by Graham Fuller //

3/1/2020 19:15 the Company was dispatched to the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and Church Road for the report of smoke or steam coming from a manhole cover.  Upon arrival, the company found smoke, high CO content and the smell of burning electrical coming from a PECO manhole.  PECO was notified and responded, nothing in the manhole was found to be on fire, however, PECO though the problem could be down the line and would handle it themselves as there was nothing that the company could aid them with. Neighboring properties were checked for CO and were found to be fine.
