1/25/2025 1751 – The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore was dispatched to the Hair Cuttery at 19 Woodside Road for an odor of smoke in the building. First-arriving firefighters found an electrical box in the rear alley on fire. The electrical box exploded with fire and heavy smoke. All stores were evacuated and the Bryn Mawr Fire Company was called to assist. PECO responded quickly and shut off the power so the fire could be extinguished. The entire strip of stores remained without power. Fire officials remained on location for 90 minutes. There were no injuries.
