10/24/2026 | 1000 – Station 25 attended the Lower Merion Township Open House.
A great opportunity to connect with our community and join police, ambulance, and public works personnel for a day of family fun! Visitors enjoyed vehicle displays, a K-9 exhibit, police station tours, music, and refreshments.

10/22/2026 | 1544 Hours – Station 25 responded to 7 E. Athens Avenue in Ardmore for a reported carbon monoxide (CO) alarm sounding inside a multi-unit residential building.
Upon arrival, Ardmore firefighters began investigating the source of the alarm and checking the building for potentially dangerous carbon monoxide levels.
Crews traced the problem to a blocked chimney serving a hot water heater. The obstruction was cleared, and firefighters conducted additional checks throughout the building before confirming conditions were safe and returning to service.
⚠️ Carbon Monoxide Safety Reminder: Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas that can be deadly. Blocked chimneys, malfunctioning heating equipment, and improperly vented appliances can allow dangerous levels of CO to accumulate inside a building.
Make sure your home has working carbon monoxide detectors, have fuel-burning appliances inspected regularly, and never ignore a CO alarm! If an alarm sounds, evacuate the building and call 911 from a safe location.
Incidents like this demonstrate why working carbon monoxide detectors are so important. They provide an early warning of a potentially life-threatening situation.
10/20/2026 | 1848 Hours – Station 25 responded to 149 Roosevelt Terrace in Ardmore for a report of a strong odor of natural gas outside a residence, again.
First-arriving crews discovered that the home’s gas meter had been knocked off, causing natural gas to flow freely from the service line. Fortunately, the shutoff valve remained intact, allowing firefighters to quickly secure the gas supply and stop the leak.
PECO was requested to the scene while Ardmore firefighters checked and ventilated the residence. As an added precaution, crews also checked neighboring homes to ensure there were no additional hazards.
Natural gas emergencies can become dangerous very quickly. If you smell gas, leave the area immediately, avoid anything that could create a spark or flame, and call 911 from a safe location.
