10/7/2026 1940 Tree on Fire

10.09.2026 by Graham Fuller //

10/7/2026 | 1940 Hours – Station 25 responded to 267 Kent Road in Wynnewood for a report of a tree on fire after coming into contact with electrical wires behind a residence.

Upon arrival, Ardmore firefighters discovered a tree smoldering while in contact with energized power lines. Crews secured the area and requested PECO to respond to safely disconnect the electrical service.

Once PECO confirmed that power to the affected lines had been shut off, Station 25 firefighters were able to safely extinguish the smoldering tree and eliminate the hazard.

⚠️ Electrical Safety Reminder: Trees and branches in contact with energized power lines can pose a serious danger, even when there are no visible flames. Never attempt to move or extinguish burning vegetation near electrical wires. Stay clear of the area and call 911.

Incidents like this highlight the importance of coordination between firefighters and utility companies to safely handle electrical emergencies.
