9/9/2026 1213 Building Fire

9/9/2026 | 1213 Hours – Station 25 responded to 101 Mill Creek Road in Ardmore for a reported fire in a second-floor apartment. Units from Stations 26, 24, 23, 21, and 28 were also dispatched to assist.

First-arriving crews located a small kitchen fire and quickly went to work. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and bring the situation under control before it could develop into a more serious incident.

The quick response and coordinated efforts of all companies on scene helped keep the fire contained to the immediate area.

Kitchen fires can grow quickly. Never leave cooking unattended, and always keep anything that can burn away from the stove and cooking area.

9/4/2026 0722 CO Detector

9/4/2026 | 0722 Hours – Following the earlier underground electrical fire near Haverford Station Road and W. Lancaster Ave., the crew from Engine 25 was called to the Chase Bank in the 300 block of W. Lancaster Ave. before the business opened for the day.

Firefighters checked the building for elevated carbon monoxide levels to ensure it was safe for employees and customers following the underground fire.

Incidents involving underground electrical equipment can produce smoke and carbon monoxide that may travel into nearby buildings, making these precautionary checks an important part of keeping our community safe.

8/29/26 2227 Building Investigation

8/29/2026 | 2227 Hours – Ardmore firefighters responded to a residence on Hamilton Road in Wynnewood for a reported odor of smoke inside the home.

Crews conducted an extensive investigation lasting approximately one hour, checking the residence to locate the source of the odor. The investigation eventually led firefighters to equipment located within a crawlspace.

Calls like this demonstrate the importance of thoroughly investigating any unexplained odor of smoke. If you smell smoke in your home and cannot immediately identify the source, don’t hesitate to call 911 and let firefighters investigate.
