9/7/2026 | 1735 Hours – Ladder 25 and members of the Merion Fire Company responded as part of the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) assignment at a building fire on the 1000 block of DeKalb Street.
The incident began as a vehicle and trailer fire beneath an overhang at a car dealership before extending to the building. As conditions escalated, the incident was upgraded to a second alarm, bringing additional resources to the scene.
Station 25 personnel operated as one of the RIT teams, standing ready to provide immediate assistance or rescue should a firefighter become injured, trapped, or otherwise need help during fireground operations.
The fire was ultimately brought under control after an extensive multi-company response.
