8/4/2026 1800 National Night Out

08.05.2026 by Graham Fuller //

8/4/2026 | 1800 Hours – The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore had a fantastic time at National Night Out in Suburban Square! πŸš’πŸŽ‰

Our members brought Ladder 25 and the Command Vehicle to the event, giving visitors an up-close look at the apparatus we use to protect our community. Guests had the opportunity to tour the ladder truck, explore its compartments, ask plenty of great questions, and even watch a few of our members climb the aerial ladder!

It was a wonderful evening spent connecting with residents, meeting new friends, and sharing what it means to serve as volunteer firefighters in Lower Merion Township.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit us. We truly enjoyed meeting you and appreciate your continued support. We can’t wait to see you again next year!

7/23/26 0444 Elevator Rescue

07.23.2026 by Graham Fuller //

7/23/2026 | 0444 Hours – Station 25 responded to St. James Place in Suburban Square for a report of a person trapped in an elevator.

What initially sounded like a routine elevator rescue quickly became a complex operation. Because of the early morning hour, firefighters first had to gain access to a locked professional building, determine which elevator was out of service and on what floor it was stopped, access the rooftop elevator control room, and gain entry to a secured second floor before rescue operations could begin.

Thanks to the training and experience of our volunteers, crews were able to work through each of these challenges, safely access the elevator, and successfully extricate the occupant.

Incidents like this are a great reminder that emergency calls are often far more complex than they first appear. Regular training prepares our members to solve problems, adapt to changing conditions, and safely assist those in needβ€”no matter the obstacles.
