7/11/26 1330 Severe Storms

07.20.2026 by Graham Fuller //

7/11/2026 | 1330 Hours – As severe storms swept through Lower Merion Township, firefighters from Station 25 responded to more than 21 emergency calls during one of the busiest operational periods in recent township history.

Our crews handled a wide variety of incidents, including numerous water rescues involving motorists trapped in floodwaters, multiple reports of building fires—including one confirmed working fire—trees that had fallen into homes, apartment buildings damaged by high winds and falling trees, and a family trapped inside their vehicle after live power lines came down onto it.

From flooded roadways to fire suppression and storm-related rescues, our members worked continuously throughout the day and night to protect lives and property under extremely challenging conditions.

We extend our sincere thanks to every member who answered the call and served our community with professionalism, dedication, and teamwork. We also thank our neighboring fire, EMS, police, public works, utility, and emergency management partners whose coordinated efforts helped keep our community safe during this significant weather event.

Finally, we’d like to thank the residents of Lower Merion Township for their patience and cooperation as crews worked to address emergencies across the township.

7/6/26 1900 Drill at the College Arms Apartments

07.08.2026 by Graham Fuller //

7/6/2026 | 1900 Hours – This week’s training took Station 25 to the former College Arms Apartments on Montgomery Ave., where our firefighters had the opportunity to train in a real-world environment.

Training in an actual structure provides invaluable experience that simply can’t be replicated in a classroom. Crews worked through realistic fireground scenarios, allowing them to sharpen their skills, improve teamwork, and prepare for the emergencies they may face in our community.

A sincere thank you to the property’s new owners and Lower Merion Township for making this outstanding training opportunity possible. Partnerships like these help ensure our firefighters are prepared to provide the highest level of service to the residents and visitors of Ardmore and Lower Merion Township.
