8/9/26 2136 Building Fire

08.10.2026 by Graham Fuller //

8/9/2026 | 2136 Hours – Station 25 responded to assist Station 23 at a working fire involving a row of multiple garages on the unit block of Morton Road in Bryn Mawr.

Engine 25-1 established a water supply, laying a supply line to support Ladder 23. Ladder 25 and Engine 25 provided additional manpower, tools, and portable lighting to support operations, while Chief 25 assisted with command.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all companies on scene, the fire was quickly brought under control. Crews then checked the surrounding garages and confirmed there was no extension of the fire.

Another great example of our Lower Merion companies working together to quickly and safely handle an emergency.

8/5/26 1322 Wire Fire

08.05.2026 by Graham Fuller //

8/5/2026 | 1322 Hours – Station 25 responded to the intersection of Mill Creek and Old Gulph Roads for a report of a tree branch resting on energized electrical wires that had caught fire.

Chief 25, Engine 25, and Engine 25-1 arrived and secured the area to protect the public from the energized wires and any falling debris while awaiting the arrival of PECO. As a precaution, firefighters thoroughly soaked the area beneath the wires to ensure no fire had spread to the surrounding vegetation.

Electrical emergencies can be extremely dangerous. If you encounter downed wires, sparking electrical equipment, or burning vegetation near power lines, stay well away from the area and call 911. Always assume power lines are energized until the utility company confirms otherwise.
